Windows Advanced Mode for Windows Server 2012

Windows Advanced Mode is essential for doing a number of things from debugging, boot logging, low-resolution video, safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt, booting with disable driver signature enforcement, disable early launch anti-malware protection, and disable automatic restart after failure.

The following method is by far to me the fastest method to get into Advanced Mode.

Go to Start -> Accessories -> Command Prompt

From there enter (without quotes)

“shutdown.exe /r /o”

Windows DOS shutdown.exe

Windows DOS shutdown.exe

You should now see the following screen

Command Prompt sign out

Command Prompt sign out

This will reboot the system into the generic Troubleshoot menu, as shown below:

Troubleshoot Windows Server 2012

Troubleshoot Windows Server 2012

from here select “Troubleshoot” -> “Advanced options” -> “Startup Settings” -> “Reboot”
